Here we are now half way through another year! Wow where has the time gone? Let’s agree together to make the second half of 2009 a fantastic time in our lives.

Let’s agree to continue to take steps towards our goals and those things that are important to us.

Have you ever experienced this? When you take your eyes off your goals and then see all of the circumstances around you that can sometimes be quite frightening? Well, I know that I have. This is something that I need to set my mind to each day to determine that I will continue to focus on my goals and move towards them!

There is an interesting story in the Bible; you may have heard it, where Peter was in a boat on the Sea of Galilee with the other disciples. The wind was strong and the waves were big and choppy. Next thing they saw Jesus walking on the water. The next bit is interesting. Peter said, “Lord, if it is You then command me to walk on the water.”

Peter then got out of the boat and began to walk on the water. He was the only one of the disciples who is recorded as having ever walked on the water.

As long as Peter kept his eyes on the goal of walking to Jesus, he was fine. But in the moment that he took his eyes of the goal and saw the wind and huge waves around him, then he began to sink!

Have you ever felt like that? Have you ever been heading towards your goal and then something got your attention and caused you to take your eyes off your goal?

Learn a lesson here from Peter. Keep your eyes today on what is important to you – on your goals! Take one step at a time towards them and you will become closer each day to seeing your goals become a reality.
