Today we’re on week two of my weekly tips of ingredients to avoid and how to avoid them.

This week’s ingredient is known as Isinglass. It is commonly used for the clarification of certain wines and beers.
Isinglass is a substance obtained from the swim bladder [a gas-filled sac used to control buoyancy] of certain fish.

When certain beers are being brewed [mostly cask conditioned beers, or real ale] isinglass is introduced into the beer to bind the yeast into a jelly-like mass. This causes the yeast to settle to the bottom of the cask, clearing up the beer. If left alone, beer will clear naturally, but of course these days, time is money, and so isinglass is one way to speed up the clarification process.

Often, isinglass is not mentioned in the ingredients label. This is due to the fact that the majority of the substance is removed from the beer before bottling, and so, is often not seen as an ingredient. This can make avoiding isinglass a little more difficult.

A good way to make sure you aren’t consuming unwanted animal products when you drink beer, is to try to buy non-cask beers. Beers that are destined for kegs, bottles or cans are often pasteurized [being sterilized, usually using heat] and filtered. The yeast in these beers tend to settle naturally, without the use of isinglass.

These days there are also many vegetarian alcoholic drinks available. by purchasing these, you can really be sure that you’re not going to get any nasty surprises by way of ingredients.

That concludes this week’s tip. Thanks for reading!

Til next week,
Tehillah.

Advice on Time Management from Chris Males
Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

Today’s success tip comes from Chris Males.

Chris Males is the Founder of Pro-Fit Corporate Health which is an established provider of “at work” health solutions. Since starting Pro-Fit Chris has also created a fitness BootCamp which has helped over 500 people get fitter and stronger.

What are some low-cost ways business owners can improve the health of their staff and, in turn, improve productivity?

It comes down to creating a healthy workplace culture that the ‘corner offices’ buy into. So many bosses talk to their staff about health and work-life balance, yet do the complete opposite themselves. Often they are the ones that work through lunch, load up on caffeine and work back all night. This sends the message that ‘if you want to get to where I am you need to follow suit’.

The most economical way of improving your staff’s health is to actually invest in action. While seminars, health assessments and online information are great for inspiration, education and need analysis, it is not until you actually start the activity of getting healthier that you will notice a change.

There are a lot of overweight people that know a great deal about exercise and nutrition, yet they never use that knowledge. Knowledge isn’t power, it’s potential power just waiting to be acted upon.

Our clients can choose to do sessions whenever they like, although we will always recommend the lunch hour because it helps raise productivity so much.

Working out at lunch not only helps to break up the day, but also revitalises your thinking and releases positive endorphins into the bloodstream that in turn help create a productive and creative mood. It’s also great for team morale to be doing the workout together instead of visiting a gym by themselves after hours.

Some other ways to improve staff health are:

* organise an incentive program for staff to join in fitness activities

* replace afternoon coffee and cakes with healthier options such as fruit and juice

* hold an annual health expo with individual assessments and education seminars

* have a health column in your monthly newsletter

* organise teams to compete in popular fundraising events such as fun runs and Walk for a Cure.

I hope you’ve learned from this week’s tip for success. If you’d like to see more, check back again next week.

Until then,

Allan Poole

Why iLifestyleClub?

Why iLifestyleClub?

Well, like the iMac, iPod and iPhone, iLifestyleClub website utilises the power of the internet, a phenomenon which most people would agree has revolutionized the lifestyles of millions of people all over the world in the last 10 years or so. Hence the ‘i’ designation.

In 1996 when I had my first encounter with the internet, it was on a second-hand IBM 286 PC with a 20mB hard drive running on Windows 3.1. Back then, the dialup modem was rated at 14.4kb/s. When I got a 33.6kb/s modem I thought I was in internet heaven! Shortly afterward I upgraded to a 486 with Windows 95 which although somewhat unstable was so much easier to use and an affordable alternative to the Macs which were much better but were then priced at $5000 or more. But get this, the computer I use now has 4000 times the hard drive capacity, 1000 times the clock speed, and the internet connection is 35 times faster than on that first computer. And 512kb/s is a slow connection these days.

So how has the internet changed our lifestyle in the 21st century? Well, think of the way we used to do things. To send a letter used to cost 50c including stationery, postage stamp etc. The letter took days or weeks to arrive and so did the reply. Today we use email which is a free service and arrives instantly. Likewise we can phone people anywhere in the world for free – and – get this – the video phone which used to be a science fiction concept 10 years ago, is now a reality. Anyone can download the software for free and see the person they are talking to over the internet. I talk to my Mum in NZ all the time. Our day to day business transactions have also been impacted. Instead of making a trip to the Post Office or mailing a cheque, we can now pay our bills instantly online at no cost, as this saves money all round, the banks and the billing companies all save money if we pay this way. But more than anything the internet has revolutionised the way we gather information. No longer do we need to visit a library or bookstore to research topics which interest us. And the internet is fun too! There are so many different websites you can join to network socially, play online games, download music or movies (legally of course!), and the list goes on…

So what does the iLifestyleClub offer in the way of internet lifestyle? Well, as the name suggests, this is a club which requires membership, and yes there is a cost. You see, the information on this site, is information about wealth creation, success and motivation. For about half the price of a cup of coffee per day, you will have access to information that has made some people millionaires, for others it has enabled a substantial increase in their income. In a day and age where the pace of life has accelerated and financial pressures constantly restrict our lifestyles, the chance to become financially free has become a quest for many, but how to go about this?

Well, very simply, ask someone who has already been there and achieved the opportunity to retire at an early age. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not there yet. I’m still learning, but the information on iLifestyleClub is written by people who have achieved financial independence and are willing to share their knowledge and experiences. And get this, if you refer 4 people to iLifestyleClub you have already recouped your membership cost. If you refer more, you have just created a recurring passive income stream for yourself. And that is only the beginning. There are over 1 billion internet users today and so many income opportunities available on the net. You can build an online business through eBay or affiliate programs like iLifestyleClub, rent shares through an online options broker or search for investment properties on the internet, but the key to success in all these endeavours is knowledge.

We have all heard the horror stories of people who have made bad business or investment decisions and lost money, all due to lack of knowledge and experience. The only way to avoid that kind of debacle is to be forearmed with the requisite knowledge. And if you are interested in improving your lifestyle using the leveraging power of the internet, iLifestyleClub has the knowledge and wisdom you will need to become successful to whatever degree you desire. You may not want to become a millionaire, maybe you just need to replace your income or make a little money on the side to enhance your lifestyle. The choice is yours, with iLifestyleClub you have the opportunity to make as much or as little as you like.

You can get started by sampling 5 free gifts which are downloads selected from the myriad of information available on iLifestyleClub, then if you like what you see you can have a 21-day Test Drive for $1 and download up to 50 items in that time. If you’re a speed reader you’d be pushing it to read all that, but hey, go for it! After the 21 days is up, you then have the option of full membership at $47 a month. If you don’t have some idea by then of what can be achieved, or don’t think you could learn more, then you have only lost $1. But if you like the idea of creating a passive income, you can get yourself an affiliate link to iLifestyleClub and email all your friends about it. If only 4 of them sign up you can stay a member as long as you like and it won’t have cost you a thing apart from that initial $1. As well-known wealth creation speaker and self-made millionaire Jamie McIntyre likes to say, “Something to - think about!”

Hi friends

I am currently reading a book which I consider to be one of the best books that I have ever read. I am enjoying it immensely!

The title of the book is “The One Minute Millionaire” by Robert G. Allen and Mark Victor Hansen. The book was published in 2002, but I have only just come across it in the past month.

The book is unusual in that it contains both a Fictional story and also Non-Fictional Tips and Steps to becoming an Enlightened Millionaire. The Right hand pages through out most of the book contains the Novel and the Left hand pages contain the Steps to follow.

I began by reading the Introduction and then some of the initial Steps. I then got so into the Novel that I read it over 2 days and since have come back to the Steps and Tips. I am currently half way through the book following the Steps to becoming an Enlightened Millionaire.

It is interesting, because I have just been looking on the Net and there seems to be a lot of people out there who either really like or dislike this book. I am definitely in the group who likes it. I have found that there are a lot of useful Strategies, Tips and Steps that can be followed on our journey through life!

I will write more about this in our up-coming Newsletter.

Note also the following link to articles by Mark Victor Hansen on our Web Site. Mark is possibly most well known for his “Chicken Soup For The Soul” series written jointly with Jack Canfield.

Until next time, have a wonderful week!

Remember: *** True nobility is not about being better than someone else, it’s about being better than you used to be. ***

Hey guys! Tehillah here.

Today I’ll be starting my weekly tips, for you vegetarians out there, on what ingredients on food labels you should avoid, what those ingredients really are, and what you can do to avoid them.

This week’s ingredient to avoid is commonly listed in the ingredients list, of cheese, as enzymes(rennet).
It can be found in most cheeses, and can be a really big downfall for unsuspecting vegetarians.

Rennet is a natural enzyme that young mammals [calves in this case] produce in the mucous layer of the stomach to help digest their mother’s milk. When the rennet comes in contact with milk, it separates the milk into curds and whey [solids and liquids], and for this reason it is used to help solidify cheese.

For those of you who love cheese, but still want to stick to a vegetarian diet, there’s good news. You can have both!

These days there are other methods that can be used to coagulate [solidify] milk to produce cheese. Many vegetables and plants have coagulating properties, including thistles, nettles and fig bark. There are also cheeses that are produced using microbial rennet [meaning certain molds can be used as a replacement for animal rennet. Not as gross as it sounds!].

Cream cheeses and some mozzarella cheese can be made using acid, such as citric acid.
Avoiding animal rennet in your cheese is as simple as checking the ingredients label at the supermarket when you buy your cheese. Many labels will say “enzymes(rennet)”, but you want to avoid that. Look for any labels that say “non-animal rennet” or something similar. These cheeses look and taste very similar [if not better!] to the cheese that contains the animal products, and can be used in exactly the same way.

So that’s this week’s tip, I hope you guys found this helpful. Good luck!

Til next week,
Tehillah.

A Motivational Tip from Pip McKay
Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

Today’s success tip comes from Pip McKay.

Pip became a trainer of NLP, running programs through her company Evolve Now! Mind Institute. From her years of experience coaching and training Pip pioneered a new technique called Matrix Therapies that has gained widespread popularity.

What have you found to be the best methods or strategies for keeping motivated and focused?

* I believe that doing what you love is the key to staying motivated. When you love something you don’t have to motivate yourself because you simply want to do it. If you have found your purpose and don’t feel motivated, then there is some kind of block that needs to be cleared. I don’t even like the idea of having to ‘get motivated’, it seems like too much hard work. I’d rather do what I love or clear a block to what I want.

* Having said that, in every business there are certain tasks that although boring, are important. In these situations I always break the task down into smaller sections so I can get a sense of closure for each. This also allows me to complete more interesting tasks in between. Or I will give myself a short timeframe to complete it in so that I am racing the clock and getting it out of the way more quickly. Inertia is always greatest at the beginning of a task, so starting with small, easy steps helps overcome that initial inertia and the rest of the task takes on a momentum of its own.

* Sometimes a lack of motivation is simply exhaustion. To remain motivated I think it is important to balance your lifestyle, take breaks, eat well and have holidays. People often use the term, ‘mind over matter’ to bully themselves into becoming a workaholic. When we work in cooperation with our body and emotions we create balance and wellbeing and in these circumstances motivation is natural.

That’s it for this week. I wish you all the best for this coming week.

Until next time,

Allan Poole
